Design A Close Encounter of two kinds: Cooperative Encounters Cooperative Encounters have respondents make sense and meaning out of their own experiences. The goal is to harness the collective wisdom of the respondents, rather than relying solely on us, the researchers. By reflecting on what the respondents think and feel, we make sense and meaning together. Creative Encounters Creative Encounters are a way of getting to the more inaccessible and non-verbal experiences of respondents, using creative arts like drawing, drama, and written stream of consciousness. The goal is to get at what still remains unsaid in the dialogues. Respondents often have a hard time expressing in words how they think or feel about something, so using these techniques we can access perspectives that wouldn't surface in a conversation. --------- About
